HAUTE COUTURE WEEK 2025 HIGHLIGHT, Day 4!

Aelis

Founder and designer of Aelis, Sofia Crociani’s collection at Summer Couture 2025, exploring sustainability while marrying art is a profound moment for Fashion. The Collection’s soul is the sentiment and passion that a handcrafted dress carries rather than the fabric and silhouettes. The clothes are made with a very light and airy fabric called silk mousseline. It's so soft and delicate, it almost feels like butterfly wings! This makes the clothes flow and move beautifully. Lace plays a significant role this season. Aelis introduces AI-generated garments as an ecological alternative to conventional material-based fashion. AI team, focusing on the possibilities of hybrid design, where organic and digital facets can be blended naturally.

Juana Martín

“Identidad”. The collection embodies the soul of flamenco( a performing art form that includes music, dance, and singing, and is associated with southern Spain), an essential element of her creations, this time enhanced with radiant sequins, airy fringes, and refined cuts reminiscent of the elegance of the 1920s. Inspired by legendary figures such as Lola Flores and Carmen Amaya, Juana Martín crafts a collection that exalts the strength and passion of women, retraces the flamenco universe, and gives it a modern twist. We think otherwise. We love the fabric and designs but it all started to become undressed at some point. The feminine strength and power do not come at the cost of nudity.

“I was reading a passage from the Koran about a sacred tree in the sky,” she said. “It’s a tree that souls who have done good deeds climb, it’s a story of ascension.” The collection is dominated by ivory, pale blue and silver.

Miss Sohee

“I take inspiration from natural objects like petals or shells. I take these shapes and place them onto the body,” Park said. “It is very sculptural, but it still brings out the feminine shape.” Another speciality of Miss Park is Korean traditional craftsmanship, like najeonchilgi, a technique of inlaying mother-of-pearl landscapes into lacquerware and embroidery inspired by Minhwa, a type of Korean folk art. The Spring 2025 Couture collection felt like a playful underwater adventure, mermaids playing with beautiful shells and shimmering pearls. We look forward to seeing a more mature collection from Miss Sohee in future couture.

Kevin Germanier showed a lineup of short, skin-hugging dresses in brightly coloured beadwork for his namesake label's catwalk outing on Thursday, closing the week of spring/summer 2025 haute couture shows in Paris. Germanier said he used second-hand garments and leftovers from workshops in countries including Brazil and India.
