Gaurav Gupta’s couture collection SS 2025, Titled 'Across the Flame' exhibited at Haute Couture Week is a powerful ode to strength found in the most vulnerable moments. The meaning has to do with Gupta’s own personal near-death experience in a recent accident. You’ll get to see moulded metal body plates a symbol of armour/ protection, Signature sculpting, draping, simmering golds and angelic whites. The heart of the collection is Astral Projection—a transformative, out-of-body experience. Chants served as mantras of solace and strength for Gaurav and Navkirat during their passage through this crucial journey. The entire experience felt surreal, empowering and spiritual.

“This collection is not just a showcase of couture for us, it is a deeply personal testament to the power of resilience, transformation, and the infinite light within all of us,” said Gupta in a statement.

Color palette ranges from peach and pastels to beautiful neons, Navy Blue and Black with delicate floral, waterfall and fluid sequined embroideries. The collection's name, "Vertigineux" (meaning "dizzy" in French), hints at its inspiration: the idea of lists. Think of how lists can feel endless, and how they help us organize things and even create culture (or sometimes, the opposite!). The collection plays with this idea of endless possibilities and the way things can be both ordered and a little chaotic. As Michele articulated in his collection notes, for him, lists represent “the journey into the vertigo of an unfinished multiplicity.” He said that Eco’s texts “pushed me to imagine every unique, finite, and unrepeatable dress as an uninterrupted and potentially infinite catalogue of words.” And honestly, we have nothing to say about this collection.
